A brick warehouse in Long Island City could be razed for a new mixed-use project combining housing and commercial uses, reports Patch.

The proposed project, which comes from developer Chris Xu, would rise from a corner lot located at 46-30 21st Street. Xu, whose firm United Construction and Development also built the Skyline Tower - now the tallest in Queens - reportedly acquired the site for $13 million in 2020.

In its place, plans call for the construction of a nine-story, 95-foot-tall building featuring 71 residential units on its upper floors. Ground-floor commercial space and a 23-car garage would be located below.

Patch reports that Flushing-based Lu Ning Architecture is designing the building.
