After two-and-a-half years of construction, Greystar Real Estate Partners is entering the home stretch at the Weddington apartments in North Hollywood.

The project, located at the southwest and southeast corners of Chandler Boulevard and Blakeslee Avenue, consists of five-story buildings featuring 329 apartments and 4,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

VTBS Architects designed the contemporary low-rise complex, which is built around the historic Weddington House.  The more than century-old building was once home to Wilson Weddington, a co-founder of the town of Lankershim which eventually became North Hollywood.

A leasing website advertises a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom floor plans, with rents ranging from $2,511 to $3,960 per month.

The Weddington is joined by a handful of similar mixed-use apartment buildings, including a new project from Richman Group which broke ground next to North Hollywood Station in September.

Metro is also working with Trammell Crow Company to develop a large mixed-use complex on the surface parking lot that surrounds the transit hub.
