An empty lot in South Los Angeles could be redeveloped with permanent supportive housing, according to an application submitted yesterday to the Department of City Planning.

The project, which would rise just south of the intersection of 21st Street and Central Avenue, calls for the construction of a 57-unit supportive housing development catering to disabled veterans.

City records list the developer of the proposed apartment complex as an entity affiliated with Highridge Costa Development.  The property was acquired by the developer for approximately $3.3 million in late 2019.

Egan Simon Architecture is listed as a representative for the project.

Highridge Costa, which already developing two additional supportive housing complexes in South Los Angeles, is seeking expedited processing for its latest project via SB 35.
