A year after was last dropped by, vertical construction complete, and exterior finishes are starting to be revealed at the Rise Koreatown,  a mixed-use development from Cal-Coast Development and Rescore

Located on a 2.2-acre site at 3525 W. 8th Street, the project is comprised of a seven-story building that will feature 364 apartments - including 38 deed-restricted low- and moderate income units - with 52,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space (including a supermarket) and a 791-car garage.

Nadel Architects is designing the the podium type building, which will include a central courtyard and other residential amenities.  The real life product closely resembles renderings, which depict a boxy mid-rise structure clad in white stucco with red and yellow flourishes.

A landing page from the Cal-Coast website previously advertised a completion date for the $150-million project in early 2021. However, a change in the project's general contractor mideway through construction delayed that process.

The Rise Koreatown is surrounding by a series of proposed and under-construction developments from Jamison Services, Inc., including new apartment buildings at Western Avenue, Harvard Boulevard, and Serrano Avenue.

The Koreatown project is one of two recent Los Angeles-area developments built by Cal-Coast and Rescore.  The other, the Rise Hollywood, opened earlier this year near Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street.
