Seven months after we last dropped by, construction continues at the new Hawthorne headquarters of Ring, a maker of video doorbells and a subsidiary of Amazon.

The new campus, located at 12515 Cerise Avenue, repurpose existing buildings and adds a two-story steel-frame building to create approximately 62,000 square feet of offices.

The project, located at 12515 Cerise Avenue, is designed by M-Rad.  The highlight of the campus is a new central atrium with space for 30-foot-tall trees.

Ring, which was purchased by Amazon for the reported price of $1 billion, will not own the campus, which is being developed by Vella Group.  The New York-based real estate investment firm is also partnering on a Bjarke Ingels-designed tower project in Downtown Los Angeles.

Ring's new campus will be located just south of the headquarters of SpaceX, and a short distance west of Crenshaw Boulevard, where a mixed-use housing development called Millennium Hawthorne is now under construction.

Ring is one component of Amazon's Los Angeles area presence, the bulk of which will be concentrated at the Culver Studios campus.
