New housing could be coming to a large parcel in the Winnetka neighborhood, according to an application filed with the City of Los Angeles in late 2020.

Site plan of proposed subdivision

The proposed project, which would rise at 20454 W. Strathern Avenue, calls for subdividing the more than half-acre site into four parcels.  Plans call for retaining an existing single-family home - built in the late 1970s - while adding new houses, accessory dwelling unit (ADU), "junior" ADUs on the three new parcels.  The completed development would result in eight residential units on the property.

A site plan posted to the project's case file indicates that two of the new parcels would be located at the southern half of the property, with an entrance via a cul-de-sac on Blythe Street.  The third new parcel would hug the eastern property line.

City records list the project applicant as Taiwo Laditi and Baba Osiname, two individuals affiliated with the Los Angeles-based contractor Ayus & Co.

A similar development featuring a mix of small lot houses, ADUs, and junior ADUS is planned near the 405 Freeway in Van Nuys.
