The Albert Group Architects has unveiled the design of a proposed multifamily residential development near Metro's busy North Hollywood Station.

The project, submitted for entitlements earlier this year by Strategic Legacy Investment Group (SLIG), would replace a vacant apartment building and a strip mall at 11410-11420 W. Burbank Boulevard.  Plans call for the construction of a six-story structure featuring 84 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - including nine extremely low-income affordable units - above a single level of basement parking.

The project's inclusion of affordable housing and proximity to a Metro Rail station makes it eligible for Transit Oriented Communities incentives.  SLIG has requested increases to density, height, and floor area for the project, as well as reductions in required side yards and automobile parking.

The Albert Group is designing the podium-type building with amenities that include a community room, a central courtyard, and a rooftop amenity deck.  Plans call for exterior finishes that include glass, aluminum, and composite materials.

According to a the Albert Group, the project is to be submitted to the Department of Building and Safety for permitting in this month.

It joins a handful of multifamily developments near North Hollywood Station, including a similar apartment complex that was completed on an adjacent property in 2017.
