Just west of the unofficial boundary between Koreatown and Westlake, three small apartment buildings have made way for a larger multifamily residential development.

The project, located at 2783-2801 W. Francis Avenue, consists of a six-story building featuring 50 apartments above a single level of basement parking.

City records indicate that the project is being designed by architect Charles Hefner and build by general contractor Ark Construction & Development, Inc.

Two blocks north, a similar 80-unit project called the Golden Galaxy Condominiums is nearing completion on Leeward Avenue.

Four blocks north, concrete and rebar pillars are now rising at the future site of a 25-story apartment tower by Hankey Capital and Jamison Services, Inc.
