The project, located at 14534 Burbank Boulevard, will consist of a four-story, 55-unit apartment complex priced for low- and very low-income seniors. The site was previously developed with a triplex completed in the 1940s.
TCA Architects is designing the Burbank Boulevard Senior Housing, which will also incorporate a rooftop deck, a rear yard, a community room, and 17 basement parking stalls.
According to a September 2020 staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the apartments at the Burbank Boulevard development will be reserved for seniors earning no more than 30 percent of the Los Angeles area median income level. Rents for the studio and one-bedroom units are expected to range from $591 to $633 per month.
Funding for the approximately $30.3-million development includes tax credit equity, Measure HHH, and Los Angeles County's No Place Like Home Program.
Mercy Housing's other projects include proposed supportive housing developments in Downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach. The non-profit developer is also partnering with Abode Communities and LA Family Housing on a modular supportive housing complex in Chatsworth.
