The project, called The Rise Koreatown, is located on a 2.2-acre site at 3525 W. 8th Street.  The seven-story building will contain 364 apartments - including 38 deed-restricted low- and moderate income units - above 52,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 791 parking stalls.

Designed by Nadel Architects, the podium type building will include a central courtyard wrapped by residential amenities.  Renderings depict a boxy mid-rise structure clad in stucco, with a supermarket at its ground floor.

Completion of the $150-million development is on pace to occur in 2021.

The Rise Koreatown is one of two similar projects now being built by Cal-Coast and Rescore.  The other, the Rise Hollywood, is nearing completion just south of Sunset Boulevard.

The Rise Koreatown is surrounding by a series of proposed and under-construction developments from Jamison Services, Inc., including new apartment buildings at Western Avenue, Harvard Boulevard, and Serrano Avenue.
