In Palms, the wood-and-concrete frame of a mixed-use development from RBM of California continues to rise.

The project, located at the southeast corner of Motor Avenue and Tabor Street, will consist of a six-story edifice containing 42 one-bedroom apartments - including four affordable units - above a podium containing 1,724 square feet of street-fronting commercial space and a 52-car garage.

Designed by DE Architects, the contemporary low-rise structure will include amenities such as a courtyard, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and a rooftop deck.

Plans call for quartz countertops, walk-in closets, and washer-dryer sets in all apartments.

RBM of CA, a subsidiary of the Japanese real estate investment firm Residence Building Management Co., has previously completed a similar apartment complex in Pico-Robertson, and is planning another in the Mid-Wilshire area.

The Motor Avenue project is one of numerous housing developments currently under construction in Palms.
