Four years after purchasing the Mid-Wilshire headquarters of Farmers Insurance, CIM Group is embarking on a renovation on one of the three buildings which comprise the roughly 10-acre campus.

The three-story edifice, located at 4750 Wilshire Boulevard, is the youngest of the three buildings, having been completed in the mid-1980s.  According to a marketing brochure, the property offers just over 144,000 square feet of rentable space.

A renovation plan filed yesterday with the City of Los Angeles calls for renovations to common exterior areas across the building.  This includes new shade structures, a new entrance, renovations to an existing patio area, and rooftop landscaping.  City records indicate that ShubinDonaldson is designing the improvements, though the attached renderings predate their involvement with the project.

Marketing materials also indicate plans for a renovated lobby featuring accordion doors and a new valet motor court.  The renovations are expected to be completed in April 2019.

CIM Group purchased the Farmers campus from the insurance provider in 2014, one year after the company announced its plan to relocate its corporate headquarters to Warner Center.  CIM has since initiated entitlements to construct townhomes on parking lots at the eastern side of the property and convert the historic Farmers Insurance Building into condos.
