Cal State University, Northridge is pursuing the development of a Hyatt Place hotel, in order to fulfill the needs of its campus and the surrounding community.

The proposed five-story building, slated for the corner of Nordhoff Street and Matador Road, would feature 150 guest rooms in addition to restaurant and campus space.

Stantech Architecture is designing the low-rise structure, which would abut the CSUN campus' orange grove.  Renderings portray a contemporary L-shaped building, wrapped around a courtyard with a swimming pool.  Parking for approximately 136 vehicles would be located in a surface lot immediately north of the hotel.

The Hyatt Place would be the only hotel located within four miles of the CSUN campus.

An east-west bus rapid transit line is currently planned to run along Nordhoff, immediately south of the project site.
