LaTerra Development continues to move forward with plans to replace a car wash on Santa Monica Boulevard with housing and retail, according to an environmental study published last week by the City of West Hollywood

The project, which would rise at 7617 Santa Monica Boulevard, calls for the construction of a four-story building containing 71 apartments, 9,240 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and parking for 177 vehicles.  Plans call for a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings, including for 11 to be set aside for very low-income households.

The contemporary low-rise structure, designed by Office Untitled, would include open space amenities such as a central courtyard and a rooftop pool deck.  Renderings show a sleek exterior featuring corrugated metal panels and fiber reinforced cement.

The project's Sustainable Communities Environmental Assessment anticipates an approximately 30-month construction timeline, beginning in late 2019 and concluding in 2022.

LaTerra Development, based out of Century City, has a number of similar mixed-use and multifamily residential buildings under construction in Mar Vista, Downtown, Santa Monica, and Los Feliz.
