People Assiting the Homeless, a nonprofit developer of supportive housing, has broken ground on a new residential complex for homeless and low-income individuals in Rampart Village.

Located at 340 N. Madison Avenue, the the PATH Metro Villas are being developed through a partnership between PATH Ventures and Affirmed Housing Group, and is one of the first affordable projects to break ground since the approval of Measures H and HHH.  A full buildout of the development will create 187 permanent supportive housing units, in addition to 88 interim housing beds.  Additional features include case management services, a job-training kitchen and other social services.

Renderings portray a pair of contemporary mid-rise structures, ranging between five and six stories in height.

Completion is expected in Summer 2018.

A few blocks west at the Vermont/Beverly Metro station, work is currently wrapping up for a similar mixed-use affordable housing complex by AMCAL.
