Eight months after breaking ground at a vacant site in Willowbrook, Olson Homes debuts its model unit for a new development of single-family homes in Willowbrook today.

The gated community, located on a 9.5-acre site at 13024 Salinas Avenue, including 64 priced at market rate and 30 that are deed-restricted to moderate-income and lower-income buyers for a period of 45 years.  A sales website shows a mix of three- and four-bedroom floor plans between 1,382 and 2,004 square feet in size.

Prices for the affordable homes are set between $358,000 and $373,000, with the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission providing down payment assistance at a rate of $172,000 or $274,000.  Olson is no longer accepting offers for the affordable housing, citing "overwhelming response," although the application process may be opened again in the future.

The project is located in close proximity to Earvin "Magic" Johnson Park and Metro's Willowbrook Station, both of which are slated for substantial remodels.
