An environmental study published last week by the City of Los Angeles offers a first glimpse of a proposed hotel in Westlake.

The project, which would replace a medical office building and adult daycare center at Olympic Boulevard and Westlake Avenue, calls for the construction of a six-story building containing 150 hotel rooms above 7,000 square feet of commercial space and 116 parking stalls in two subterranean levels.

Renderings of the proposed development, called Hotel L, depict a contemporary mid-rise structure accented by flourishes of violet.

A timeline for the project is not stated.

City records list the project applicant as an entity called LIVE DTLA, LLC.  The entity is addressed at a neighboring Ramada Inn on Olympic Boulevard and is managed by Young Sam Chung.

Other hotel developments planned nearby include a similar ground-up project at block north at the corner of James M. Wood Boulevard and Westlake Avenue and an adaptive reuse project at Olympic and Union Avenue.
