Less than one week after plans emerged for new bicycle lanes on four streets in South L.A., it appears that the Los Angeles Department of Transportation is also targeting segments of Sepulved and Pico Boulevards.

According to a case filing with the Department of City Planning, LADOT intends to reconfigure the three-mile stretch of Sepulveda Boulevard between Nordhoff and Rinaldi Streets in the San Fernando Valley to install bicycle lanes in either direction.  This will require reducing the number of vehicle travel lanes in each direction from three to two.

Streetsblog reports that the City has previously recognized this stretch of Sepulveda as a Vision Zero priority.

Miles away in Pico Union, LADOT intends to implement bicycle lanes on a 1.9-mile stretch of Pico Boulevard between Western and Union Avenues by reducing the number of vehicle travel lanes in each direction from two to one.
