Local real estate development firm Redcar Properties is planning a new office building just west of Santa Monica's Memorial Park.

The proposed project, as detailed in a report to the Santa Monica Architectural Review Board, would replace an automobile tow yard located at 1650 Euclid Street - roughly midway between Olympic Boulevard and Colorado Avenue.  Plans call for a three-story structure which would contain approximately 39,000 square feet of office space above a 134-car subterranean parking garage.

RAC Design Build and James Corner Field Operations are designing the proposed project, which would be split into two wings connected by a glass bridge element.  Setbacks on the second and third floors would provide open-air decks for tenants, giving the building an H-shaped footprint.

The presentation to the Architectural Review Board is preliminary, and no vote on the design concept is scheduled at this point in time.

The project joints a handful of other office buildings slated to rise near Memorial Park, including a three-story, 22,000-square-foot complex which Redcar has proposed one block east on 14th Street.

Redcar is also in the midst of construction on a smaller 11,000-square-foot development at the intersection of 15th Street and Broadway.
