Just east of the intersection of Fairfax Avenue and Adams Boulevard, construction is now underway for a mixed-use office development.

The project, which replaced a surface parking lot at 5760-5788 W. Adams Boulevard, will consist of a four-story edifice featuring 38,000 square feet of offices atop a small ground-floor coffee shop.  Plans also call for basement storage space, according to permit filings with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.

RAC Design Build is designing the low-rise structure, which is depicted as a contemporary concrete building lined with balconies and capped by a rooftop deck.

The project's developer, Redcar Properties, is planning similar projects across the Los Angeles area.  The company recently purchased an office campus in Culver City for $73.5 million with plans to redevelop the approximately four-acre site.

The West Adams site sits a short distance northwest of the Cumulus District, an 11-acre mixed-use complex now in construction that will consist of more than 1,200 apartments and retail space.
