The project, located on a two-acre site at 420 N. Atlantic Boulevard, will consist of a five-story edifice containing a 136-room hotel, 84 condominiums, and 7,125 square feet of ground-floor restaurant space.  The new construction replaces a smaller 55-room motel and a 13-unit apartment building.

Alhambra-based real estate development firm Pacific Plaza Premier is behind the project, which is depicted as a contemporary low-rise structure in multiple renderings.  The new hotel will front Atlantic Boulevard, while the project's residential component will stand on Chandler Avenue.

According to the company's website, the 136-room hotel will be "part of a renowned global hotel chain."

The company's other projects include a new housing development which recently began site preparation in Alhambra.

Several similar developments featuring new hotel rooms and multifamily housing are proposed or under construction on nearby sites along Atlantic Boulevard.
