The six-story edifice, located at the northeast corner of Olympic Boulevard and Butler Avenue, will consist of 77 apartments - including seven very low-income affordable units - above 6,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 142-car basement garage.

The contemporary low-rise structure, designed by architect Farhad Ashofteh, is composed of five levels of wood-frame construction above a concrete podium.  Its exterior will consist of stucco and trespa panels, while its roof line will pare down in height towards an adjoining block of condominiums to the north.

On Butler, which broke ground more than three years ago, is being developed by the Hypericum Companies.

The apartment complex is located one block west of the Trident Center office complex, which is being remodeled and expanded as part of a $300-million development called Lumen West L.A.

Roughly a half-mile west at Bundy Drive, the former home of Martin Cadillac is being redeveloped as a mixed-use project consisting of multifamily housing and office space with ground-floor retail.

Other projects planned nearby include a proposed nine-story office building which would replace a former Sports Chalet store.
