Across the street from Cal State University Northridge, construction is underway for a new development featuring apartments and ground-floor retail space.

Located at the northwest corner of Nordhoff Street and Darby Avenue, the project will consist of a five-story edifice featuring 146 residential units - including a 15 percent very low-income affordable component - with 2,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

DE Architects is designing the low-rise structure, which will incorporate amenities including a fitness center, a swimming pool, courtyard gardens, and a rooftop terrace.

Developer Nordhoff Darby, LLC anticipates that its project will open in mid-2020, at which time leasing and operations will be managed by LBPM.

In addition to CSUN, the apartment complex will sit one block east of Reseda Boulevard, and potentially along the path of a proposed east-west bus rapid transit line through the San Fernando Valley.
