The wood and concrete skeleton of a mixed-use development is nearly complete just south of the SpaceX headquarters campus in Hawthorne.

The project, called Millennium Hawthorne, is located on a narrow site along the east side of Crenshaw Boulevard between Jack Northrop Avenue and El Segundo Boulevard.  Two five-story buildings, flanking a central parking garage, will eventually offer 230 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments with approximately 3,100 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Steinberg Hart designed the apartment complex, which will have a contemporary look.  Architectural plans show an array of on-site amenities including a swimming pool and a fitness room.  Additionally, a series of street-facing courtyards will be located along Crenshaw Boulevard.

Millennium Hawthorne, which is on pace for completion in 2021, joins a handful of projects in the works near SpaceX headquarters, including a new office campus which will serve as the base of operations for Amazon subsidiary Ring.

Millennium Hawthorne is being developed by the Houston, Texas-based real estate investment firm Dinerstein Cos.  The company is also in the end stages of construction at a similar apartment complex in Santa Monica, and recently initiated plans for a 265-unit project in Gardena.
