In Mid-City, construction has topped out at Kentish Town, a mixed-use development at 5050 W. Pico Boulevard.

The project, which replaced a trio of small commercial buildings, will consist of a six-story structure featuring 79 studio and one-bedroom apartments, approximately 2,100 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 67-car garage.

In exchange for Transit Oriented Communities incentives permitting a larger project than would be allowed by the property's base zoning, eight of the apartments will be set aside as deed-restricted affordable housing.

Designed by Robert James Taylor Architects, is designing the development, which will present a facade of protruding, offset boxes to Pico Boulevard.  Plans call for on-site amenities including two roof decks and a lounge.

City records list the project's developer as 5050 Pico, LLC, an entity managed by Gagandeep Lakhmna.

Similar mixed-use apartment buildings are also under construction on nearby sites at 5550 and 5801 W. Pico Boulevard.
