A series of small commercial structures near the Los Angeles-Beverly Hills border could make way for a medical office building.

According to plans filed yesterday with the City of Los Angeles, the buildings at 650-676 S. San Vicente Boulevard are to be demolished and replaced with an 11-story tower, featuring more than 145,000 square feet of medical offices above ground floor-commercial space and subterranenan parking.

The approximately .76-acre property sits three blocks east of the intersection of Wilshire and La Cienega Boulevards, were a new subway station is under construction as part of the Purple Line extension.

Farther north near the Beverly Center, developer Rick Caruso is planning a 16-story apartment tower at 333 La Cienega Boulevard.
