Monogram at BBGM, an architecture and interior design firm based out of Scottsdale, Arizona, has announced the groundbreaking of a new Marriott hotel near the Irvine Spectrum.

The 15-story tower, which is being jointly developed by R.D. Olson Development and Joseph Martelli Real Estate Investments, will feature 271 guest rooms in a variety of configurations.  The hotel intends to cater to both business and leisure travelers, with high-tech in-room features such as iPhone docking stations, big-screen televisions and free Netflix and Hulu Service.

Other amenities will include a pool and spa deck, a fitness center and multiple food and beverage venues.

Approximately 13,000 square feet of meeting and event space will be built whtin the project, including a rooftop lounge and an event lawn, capable of hosting corprate events, parties and weddings.

The design of the mid-rise building, crafted by Monogram in coordination with project architect WATG, is intended as an homage to the city of Irvine's origins as a cattle ranch.  Interior renderings depict the hotel's lobby and guest rooms with modern fixtures adorned with pastoral imagery.

Completed of the $120-million hotel is expected by mid-2017.
