Real estate firm Alliance Residential has announced the grand opening of Sway, an upscale apartment complex in the heart of Downtown Santa Monica.  The five-story development, located at the intersection of 5th Street and Broadway, consists of 122 residential units and approximately 4,500 square feet of ground-level commercial floor area.

The building - which is now 45% leased - offers a wide range of floor plans, including studios, one-and-two bedroom-dwellings and multi-level walk-up units.  Apartments range from 558 square feet to 1,382 square feet in size, with rents between $3,210 and $12,060.

Like most luxury developments, Sway offers a slew of residential amenities.  Individual units come appointed with gourmet kitchens, full-size washer and dryer sets, closet organizers, and person patios.  Communal features include a zero-edge saltwater pool with LED lighting, an open-air lounge, a state-of-the-art fitness center and an on-site spa.

Additionally, the building sits withing walking distance of numerous retail and cultural amenities, including Santa Monica Beach, the Third Street Promenade and the Expo Line's future Downtown Santa Monica Station.

The design of the low-rise complex, crafted by the Minneapolis-based Cuningham Group, is an attempt to reflect Sway's location in an urban locale sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains.  The building features a five-story green wall - one of the largest in Southern California.  A pair of courtyards sit at the interior of the building, one offering a quiet enclave for residents and the other community-oriented amenity space.
