One year after completing its second permanent supportive housing development in the unincorporated community of Willowbrook, LINC Housing Corp. is back at it again with plans for a third project not far away.

The latest development, according to an initial study published this month by the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning, would rise from at 126th Street and Willowbrook Avenue, directly across the street from Metro's A Line. Plans call for razing existing improvements from the mostly vacant site, clearing the way for the construction of a new three-story edifice featuring 51 apartments in addition to surface parking for 23 vehicles.

Using Los Angeles County's density bonus ordinance, LINC proposes a larger structure than allowed under zoning rules, which would otherwise limit the site to the construction of just 11 residential units.

D33 Design & Planning, a frequent collaborator with LINC, is serving as the architect behind the Willowbrook development. Elevation plans show the finished product as a contemporary low-rise structure, clad in a combination of metal, stucco, and concrete, with wood accents. Plans also call for a small garden along the southern property line.

Per the initial study, construction of the project at 12611-12625 S Willowbrook Avenue is expected to occur over a roughly 21-month period, with occupancy of the apartments expected in 2025.

The project site sits directly north of Mosaic Gardens at Willowbrook, another permanent supportive housing project built by LINC Housing. The non-profit developer is in construction on multiple projects across Los Angeles County.
