Los Angeles Trade Technical College's latest expansion, already in the midst of two modernization project, is planning its latest expansion at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Grand Avenue.

The proposed Design and Media Arts Center, slated for the southwest corner of the intersection, would consolidate LATTC's Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Digital Media, Visual Communications, Sign Graphics, and Tailoring programs under a single roof.  The new building would also include space for future growth in the Communications Technologies department.

HED is designing the three-story, 80,000-square-foot building, which would replace Sage Hall at the northeast corner of the campus.  The new building, which would stand directly across the street from Metro's Grand/LATTC Station, and in closer proximity to the Los Angeles Fashion District.

A timeline for the project has not been announced.

A short distance south at the corner of 23rd Street and Grand Avenue, LATTC recently broke ground on its $188-million Construction Technology Building.

At the heart of the campus, construction is also in progress for the school's $48-million Culinary Arts Building.
