Construction is forging ahead at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel, a new development by Kor Group.  Photographer Hunter Kerhart recently took a look through the new development, courtesy of Morley Builders.

The project, designed by Howard Laks Architects, involves the reactivation of a late 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival building at 710 Wilshire Boulevard, as well as new construction around the historic property.  At completion, the hotel will feature 271 guest rooms, approximately 7,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, 8,000 square feet of event space, a gym, and a rooftop pool.

The design team also includes interior designer Kelly Wearstler.

Completion of the Santa Monica Proper is anticipated in early 2019.

Kor Group is also in the midst of a second Proper Hotel at the corner of 11th Street and Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles.
