An adult daycare center in the Carthay neighborhood could make way for a mixed-use development, based on an application submitted yesterday to the Department of City Planning.
The property, located at 6075 Pico Boulevard, spans a full block between Alvira Street and La Jolla Avenue. Plans call for a new structure featuring 110 hotel rooms, 45 residential units, and ground-floor commercial space.
The filing comes through the City of Los Angeles' Transit Oriented Communities guidelines, which allows developers relief from zoning restrictions in exchange for affordable housing. The project at Pico and Alvira would set aside five apartments for extremely low-income households.
Other nearby properties on Pico Boulevard are slated for development at its intersections with Curson Avenue, Stearns Drive, and Hi Point Street.
