The latest project, the PATH Villas Hollywood, replaces an existing shelter facility at 5627 Fernwood Avenue which was owned and operated by PATH.  Plans call for the construction of a new six-story building containing 60 apartments - including 59 permanent supportive housing units and one manager's unit - with on-site social services offices and parking for 14 vehicles.

The Architects Collective is designing the project, which is depicted in renderings as a contemporary podium-type building.  The Villas have a U-shaped footprint above the first floor, wrapping around a landscaped central courtyard, adding to open space amenities such including community room and a rooftop deck.

The project, which was estimated to cost $40 million in 2019, will be priced for households earning at or below 50 percent of the area median income.  Rents would range from $509 per month for a studio unit to $909 per month for a one-bedroom apartment, according to a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee.

Funding for the PATH Villas comes from a variety of state and local sources, including Measure HHH.

Besides its new Hollywood project, PATH is also developing supportive housing in South Gate and West Adams.
