Later today, Mack Urban and AECOM Capital will unveil the final design concept for South Grand Park, a new public green space in Downtown Los Angeles.

Landscape and architecture firm Rios Clementi Hale Studios is designing the project, in collaboration with local artist Desire Obtain Cherish.  New renderings and a flythrough video depict the new space at the point of completion, complete with a central paseo, trees, landscaping and outdoor seating.

The park, slated for a mid-block site on Grand Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets, is set to open in 2019.  It will coincide with the completion of a 38-story mixed-use tower, now under development by Mack Urban and AECOM.

The South Park Business Improvement District and Councilmember Jose Huizar, through his DTLA Forward Initiative, are also assisting with the project.

The final presentation will be made from 5 to 7 pm today at Grand Hope Park.  Community Arts Resources, which is facilitating public engagement for the new park, is conducting an online survey to garner community feedback for the programming and design for the project.
