One block east of Metro's Culver City Station, the concrete podium of a mixed-use apartment building now protrudes above ground at 3434 Wesley Street.
The project, rising from a previously vacant site to the south of Washington Boulevard, will consist of a five-story building featuring 15 apartments - including one very low-income affordable unit - above approximately 14,000 square feet of office and commercial space, and basement parking for 69 vehicles.
LOHA is designing the development, which will include a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom floor plans. The building, which will be clad in perforated and solid metal panels, is organized into three horizontal bands intersected with strips of green space. The height of the structure gradually scales up as it moves east from Wesley Street.
City records list the project applicant as Pine, LLC, a Los Angeles-based entity managed by Hooshang Larian.
Other developments now under construction nearby include Ivy Station, a mixed-use complex which includes a hotel, multifamily housing, and new offices for WarnerMedia, as well as a four-story office building leased by Apple.
The 3434 Wesley apartment complex is surrounded by a 3.6-acre site which owner Karney Properties has previously sought to redevelop with 234 apartments and retail in 2017.
