After eight months of construction, the wood frame of a mixed-use apartment building is now rising in Culver City

The project, which is being developed as a joint venture between James Suhry & Associates and Tooley Interests, will consist of a five-story building containing 37 apartments and 7,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space at 12803 Washington Boulevard.  Plans call for three units of very-low-income housing, as well as amenities such as a roof deck and a basement parking garage..

Marina del Rey-based Pleskow Architects designed the contemporary low-rise structure.

The development site sits just west of a 99 Cents Only Store that was recently purchased by Bastion Development.  The Vancouver-based firm has entitled and built several apartment buildings in Culver City.
