Nearly two years after beginning construction in East Hollywood, the wood-and-concrete frame of a new apartment complex at Melrose and Virgil Avenues is now complete.

The mixed-use project, which is being built by Los Angeles-based 4Site Real Estate, consists of a five-story building that will contain 24 apartments with 7,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 60-car parking garage.

Holtz Architecture designed the low-rise building, which adapts to its hillside location with 24 townhouse-style dwellings and a garden podium with a pool.

Per the architect's website, construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

4Site has built a number of mixed-use and multifamily residential developments in the past five years, largely in the Westlake area.
