Affirmed Housing and non-profit service provider PATH joined local elected officials today to announce the completion of a Measure HHH-funded affordable housing development in Rampart Village.

The David T.C. Ho Family Building, located at 345 N. Westmoreland Avenue, is one component of a larger development called the PATH Metro Villas.  The six-story structure features 65 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, all of which are reserved for formerly homeless persons.

“Homelessness is the humanitarian crisis of our time, and we will only end it by building as much supportive housing as we can, as quickly as we can,” said Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. “We will overcome this challenge — project by project, and door by door — and days like this remind us what’s possible when everyone works together.”

The project, designed by KFA Architecture, includes spaces supporting services including case management and clinical services, as well as amenities including a community room and multiple rooftop decks.

The second phase of the PATH Metro Villas, currently under construction, will feature an additional 122 units of affordable housing, as well as health services and amenities.

Completion of the entire project is anticipated in March 2020, at which point the site will offer 187 affordable housing units in close proximity to the Vermont/Beverly subway station.  The total costs of the project will exceed $80 million - UnitedHealthcare has been the project's largest investor to date, providing $12 million in low-income housing tax credits through its partnership with Enterprise Housing Credit Investments.

Affirmed Housing and PATH are also pursuing affordable and permanent supportive housing developments elsewhere in Los Angeles.  Affirmed Housing recently broke ground on a 57-unit development in the Westlake area, while PATH Ventures is pursuing projects in West Adams and Hollywood.
