In late 2019, the owner of two single-family homes at 408-414 S. Oxford Avenue filed plans with the City of Los Angeles to redevelop both structures with multifamily housing.  Now, a presentation to the Wilshire Center Koreatown Neighborhood Council has unveiled renderings of the project.

Project applicant 408 Oxford, LLC - managed by Shaolong Tian - has proposed the construction of a six-story structure containing 40 two-bedroom units and parking for 87 vehicles.  In exchange for Transit Oriented Communities incentives allowing for a 70 percent increase in allowable density, the project would include four deed-restricted affordable housing units at the extremely low-income level.

KSK Design, Inc. is designing the contemporary low-rise building, which would have an O-shaped footprint above its podium level, wrapping a central courtyard.  Architectural plans also show two rooftop decks capping the building.

The project site is located a short distance from two similar multifamily housing projects that are also in development - an 89-unit condominium complex now under construction at Oxford and 5th Street and a mixed-use apartment building planned at 4th and Western Avenue.
