Architectural plans scheduled for consideration at the December 2 meeting of Westwood Community Design Review Board offer a first look at plans for a new apartment complex just west of the UCLA campus.
The proposed development, slated to replace a Lutheran church at 10915 W. Strathmore Drive, calls for the construction of a seven-story building containing 39 one-, three-, four-, and five-bedroom apartments - including six very low-income affordable units - above a 41-car garage.
Humphreys & Partners is designing the project, which is called The Standard at Los Angeles. Renderings depict a podium-type building, clad in stucco and metal, with mural displayed on its upper levels. Proposed open space amenities include a street-adjacent courtyard, a rooftop deck, a fitness center, and a club room.
The project, which is being developed by Athens, Georgia-based Landmark Properties, will require approval by the City Planning Commission.
