Just four months after we last checked in, the wood frame of a new apartment building in the West Adams neighborhood is a distant memory, as facade details start to take shape.

CIM Group, the developer behind the project at 5124-5128 W. Adams Boulevard, is building a three-story edifice containing 25 apartments above roughly 4,800 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and basement parking.

City records indicate that the project employs Transit Oriented Communities incentives to exceed relief from certain zoning rules in exchange for reserving a portion of the apartments as affordable housing.

ShubinDonaldson is designing the low-rise structure, which is of a similar architectural vernacular to other recent developments in the West Adams community.  The 5125 Adams project is clad in stucco on its upper floors, which blue frames accenting its window openings.

Construction is on pace for completion in late 2020, according to a leasing brochure posted to LoopNet.

The project is one of more than a half-dozen mixed-use projects recently developed by CIM Group in the surrounding community.
