Newport Beach-based developer Sares-Regis Group is applying exterior finishes to The Alamitos, its third-mixed-use complex in Downtown Long Beach.

Located at the northwest corner of 1st Street and Alamitos Avenue, the project consists of a seven-story edifice which will contain 136 apartments atop 2,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and basement parking.

A promotional website advertises a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom floor plans, with rents ranging between $2,450 and $3,500 per month.

Studio One Eleven designed the project, which consists of five levels of wood-frame construction atop a two-level concrete podium.  It is clad in stucco painted orange, white, grey, and blue.

Completion of The Alamitos is anticipated in 2020.

The Alamitos is the third of three projects recently developed by Sares-Regis in Downtown Long Beach, following an already-finished building at 4th Street and Linden Avenue and a multifamily complex now taking shape at 3rd Street and Pacific Avenue.

The project site is located a short walk north of the corner of Alamitos and Ocean Boulevard, where construction is now underway for the 35-story Shoreline Gateway development, an apartment tower slated to be the tallest building in Long Beach.
