After five months of digging, Oxford Capital Group has completed excavation at 1400 N. Cahuenga Boulevard, and Hollywood's Godfrey Hotel is ready to rise.

Located just south of Sunset Boulevard, the eventual seven-story building will feature 200 guest rooms, restaurant space, and a rooftop pool deck.

Steinberg Architects is designing the contemporary mid-rise building, which will wrap around a central courtyard.  Gettys Group is designing the project's interiors.

The new hotel will be the first Los Angeles location of the Godfrey chain, and its third overall.

The property is surrounded by ongoing and proposed mixed-use developments, including a potential 28-story tower at the site of Amoeba Records, as well as the Rise Hollywood and the Academy.
