Just west of the Harbor Freeway in Downtown, construction is coming to a close at another multifamily residential complex from LaTerra Development.

The project, located at the southwest corner of Temple Street and Beaudry Avenue, consists of an eight-story edifice featuring 53 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments and a three-level, 64-car podium garage.

Urban Architecture Lab designed the apartment complex at 1100 Temple Street, which is clad in metal panels and dark cement plaster.  Approved plans called for on-site amenities including a central courtyard and a rooftop deck.

While larger than the restaurant and auto body shop that it replaced, the apartment complex is eclipsed in size by planned and under-construction developments nearby. Directly across Beaudry Avenue, developer Geoff Palmer's Ferrante apartments will bring more than 1,100 apartments to a 10-acre site adjacent to the Harbor Freeway. To the north on Sunset Boulevard, the former headquarters of the Metropolitan Water District is slated to be redeveloped with three high-rise buildings featuring multifamily housing, offices, retail, and potentially a hotel.
