The project, located at the northwest corner of Via Marina and Tahiti Way, is being developed by an entity called MDR Hotels, LLC.  Plans call for five- and six-story structures containing 288 guest rooms, split between a Courtyard Marriott and a Residence Inn.

ACRM Architects is designing the dual-branded hotel, which is depicted in illustrations as a pair of contemporary podium-type buildings.  Plans call for new a waterfront terrace and the transformation of a previously undeveloped site immediately south of the hotel into a wetlands park.

Completion of construction was originally anticipated in Fall 2019.

The project site is located immediately south of the AMLI MDR and Neptune Marina apartment communities, both of which were recently built.
