Wood framing is now complete at the southwest corner of Temple Street and Beaudry Avenue, site of a LaTerra Development's latest multifamily residential complex.

The eight-story building, named for its address at 1100 W. Temple Street, will contain a total of 53 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments on its upper floors and a three-level, 64-car parking garage in a podium structure below.

Urban Architecture Lab designed the contemporary mid-rise building, which will be clad in metal panels and varying shades of dark cement plaster.  Planned on-site amenities include a central courtyard and a rooftop deck.

The 1100 Temple site, located just south of the four-level interchange, sits directly across the Beaudry Avenue from the Ferrante apartments - a 10-acre housing and retail complex now being built by developer Geoff Palmer.  That project will include more than 1,100 rental units as well as ground-floor commercial space and parking.

A few blocks north on Beaudry, the former headquarters of the Metropolitan Water District is also poised for redevelopment with a trio of high-rise buildings featuring multifamily housing, offices, retail, and potentially a hotel.

LaTerra Development, which is based in Century City, has a large pipeline of new developments across Los Angeles County.  The company is currently in the midst of construction on new apartment buildings in Santa Monica, East Hollywood, Mar Vista, and West Hollywood, and is planning additional projects in Historic Filipinotown and Burbank.
