An unused space beneath the Expo Line in Culver City has been transformed into a park-like extension of The Platform.

The mixed-use development, which opened nearly four years ago at 8810 Washington Boulevard, features multiple buildings containing office space with a mix of shops and restaurants.  The Runyon Group, which built the project, is putting the finishing touches a follow-up project that has transform an empty area beneath the viaducts which ferry Metro trains over Washington Boulevard as landscaped amenity space.

Runyon Group is also expanding Platform west in the form of Synapse, a 66,000-square-foot office building which broke ground last year at 8888 Washington Boulevard.  That project will feature 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Other developments now taking shape near Culver City Station include Ivy Station, a $300-million mixed-use complex from Lowe Enterprises, and a 128,000-square-foot office building at 8777 Washington that has been leased by Apple.
