Roughly one year after breaking ground on a new retail building in Silver Lake, CIM Group has changed up its plans by adding housing to the project.

The three-story building, now rising at 4121 Santa Monica Boulevard, will feature 41 residential units with 13,300 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a basement parking structure.  The updated plans were filed through the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines, meaning some of the apartments will be set aside as affordable housing.

Renderings of the project show a sleek low-rise structure, with two wings flanking a central courtyard.  Building permits state the development is being designed by ShubinDonaldson Architects.

Completion of 4121 Santa Monica is anticipated in the third quarter of 2019, according to a leasing brochure for its retail component.
