Over one year after breaking ground in South Park, developers Quantum Capital Partners and Pacific Southwest Realty Service are forging ahead with construction for a seven-story mixed-use complex near the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Construction has now progressed to the fifth floor above ground for the development at 1400 S. Figueroa Street, which will eventually feature 110 apartments, 1,400 square feet of ground-floor retail space and various residential amenities.

Los Angeles-based GMP Architects is designing the podium-type building, which will be clad with aluminum panels.  Renderings portray several protruding blue and red elements, which reference nearby Staples Center.

Completion has been previously scheduled for Spring 2018.
