The project, located at 9735 Washington Boulevard, will consist of three- and four-story structures featuring 60,000 square feet of offices above 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and basement parking for 223 vehicles.

Abramson Architects is designing the development, which will be clad in a combination of brick and metal screens.  The exterior finishes give the project its name: Brick and Machine.

In addition to offices and retail space, the development will include a rooftop deck and a central landscaped courtyard for access by tenants.

At the time of the project's groundbreaking in January 2020, completion was expected in approximately 20 months.

Brick and Machine joins a handful of new office developments in and around Downtown Culver City, highlighted by the Amazon-anchored Culver Studios expansion.

Abramson Architects is also designing an office building now under construction on Washington Boulevard, which is slated to become the new headquarters of mobile game maker Scopely.
